Three good books

So, I know we shouldn't judge how good a Christmas we have by the gifts we get but I have to share. We always get at least one book for Christmas from the 'rents. This year I recieved:

The Celluloid Closet

Philosophy of Film and Motion Pictures

The New Media Theory Reader

Guess who has a Communication and Technology (read: Media Studies) class next semester? I hope to get these read in January before school starts. I'll let you know what I think if I do.

Ciao!

Confession

Okay, I admit it, I'm a big ol' nerd.

I love to balance my checkbook. I like to enter all the charges I make at least once a week. And once a month, I sit down and balance my checkbook to the penny. I love it, I really love it.

I can tell when my life is out of control when I miss balancing my checkbook for a month. I actually didn't balance my checkbook for two whole months. Oh my life was so out of control!!!

But now, with finals over, I have balanced my checkbook and all is right in the world again.

As my bro would say, "Nerd alert, nerd alert!"

DUN

That's right, D. U. N.

No more finals, no more staying up late to study or work on papers, no more for the semester.

(snort) wha... Sorry fell asleep for a second there.

For all the other school kids, hang in there, the end is in sight.

Sunday afternoon

Dewd, I have a ranging headache. I've taken medicine for it and drank coffee for the caffeine but it is still hanging in there. The good news is that I have written up 11 out of the 12 articles I need for my paper. The bad news is while the paper need to be 12-15 pages long, I am only at 10. That means between writing up the last article and my conclusion, I have to write two pages. It never ends....But I asked for this.

EEEEeeeeek!

I am freakin' out about the paper I am writing. Normally I do well on papers but this is a literature review, which I have never done before and it is going slowly.

Curses!!!

Digits

Tonight T3 and I went to JI's Birthday party at The Rack. It was good to see her and I actually like to play pool, even though I suck at it.

But the big news is, as some of you may know, I have been crushing on a friend of JI's who use to work at the same place we did for about 2 months now. We would chit chat at work but he quit before I did and left really abruptly. My Crush and I talked on the phone once while I was at JI"s house the night of October's Potluck but I hadn't talked to him since. Well, long story short (too late!), My Crush was suppose to go to the party tonight.

JI told me he was suppose to be there around 9ish and as 9 came and went, I was sad to not see him there. He eventually came in but we didn't make any type of eye contact. Until T3 and I decided it was time to leave. I had left my sweater in the room he was hanging out right by the door in. So I went up to say hello.

My Crush gave me a big hug and a kiss on the cheek when he saw me. We talked for a little and I introduced him to T3 and mentioned we were getting ready to leave since we were tired. My Crush said it was good to see me and he was glad he got there in time to run into me and that we should hang out together sometime. So I told him he should take my number so we can chat sometime.

I tried so hard to play it cool but still be open and friendly and indicate that I was interested and open to getting to know him better. He forgot his phone so we ended up grabbing one of the little reserved tents, ripping it in half and I gave him my number. My Crush gave me another hug and a kiss on the cheek and T3 and I headed out of there.

I did it!

In some ways, I missed the whole having a crush and dating guys thing so this is a whole new experience for me. Now all that remains to be seen is if he actually calls....

The decision

So it is that time of year again, a time when a very important decision has to be made.

Is it better to limit the amount of sleep one gets and depend on coffee to keep you going in order to get assignments done in a timely manner? Or should one try to get regular amounts of sleep so the papers being written are actually coherent on the first try?

Well lookie here!

I found my

Now I can finally write that paper for Rhetorical Theory. Don't you just love it when something has been missing forever and suddenly you stumble across it one day? Yay!

doggoneit

So, after all that

I got a B. Very frustrating. I have not studied so hard for anything in a long time. I thought I would do better.

Sadsies.

Good or weird?

There is a coffeeshop on the first floor of the student union where I work. The bathrooms are right above it, so it always smells like sweet coffee in the women's bathroom.

Is that a good thing or just weird?
